You can also save water while doing laundry. It is important to always use the correct water level for the amount of clothes that you are washing. You should also only wash when you have a full load that needs to done, this will cut down on the amount of times you run your washer.

Changing your watering habits may also have a dramatic effect on the amount of water you use on your lawn and flower beds. By changing the time you water to the evening or early morning hours when it is cooler, you will decrease the amount of evaporation and insure that your lawn and landscaping get the correct amount of water to keep them thriving.

Simply by following a few of these steps you are decreasing the amount of fresh water that is used on a regular basis in your home. These may seem like small things, but the benefits can add up if done on a regular basis.
